The Essence of Jouvence

At Jouvence, time stands still, far from the frenzy of daily life. Rooted in over a half-century of history, we have shaped a sanctuary of serenity that invites you to leave your worries behind and immerse yourself in a deeply restorative stay.

At the heart of our identity beats a sincere commitment to people and the land. We cultivate a mindful lifestyle where kindness inspires our every action, prioritizing the well-being of our community and our region.

Over Fifty Years of History

Jouvence first took root in 1944 on the shores of Lake Stukely. What began as a modest plot of land purchased by a parish priest has grown over the decades into a cornerstone of Quebec’s outdoor heritage.

Grounded in a Human Mission

Over the years, the estate expanded as the episcopal corporation acquired neighbouring lands and built small cottages.

After welcoming its first summer camps and launching its outdoor education program in 1969, Jouvence opened its doors to families in 1976. The vacation resort became a non-profit organization in 1970 and has faithfully preserved the social and human-centred values that still define it today.

Lodges Steeped in History

Several of our cottages, such as the former schoolhouse (the Rafale) and the Anglican chapel, were relocated and meticulously restored into welcoming accommodations steeped in history. In fact, each lodge is named after a type of wind as a tribute to the nature that surrounds us.

A Sustainable Evolution

From the community work bees of the early days to the major renovations of 2002, Jouvence has never ceased to evolve. In 2010, the inauguration of the three D’Jouv lodges—partially built from eco-friendly and recycled materials—along with earning a 5-star vacation resort classification sealed Jouvence’s reputation for excellence.
