A Pact with Nature

OUR VISION

Since its founding, Jouvence has been a place where people and nature come together—and where people connect with one another. As a social enterprise rooted in the heart of Mont-Orford National Park, we have the privilege and responsibility to operate in an exceptional natural environment that shapes our identity and our purpose.

Our vision for sustainable development is based on three key goals:

To be sustainable by protecting, interpreting, and celebrating the nature around us so that it can continue to inspire current and future generations.

To thrive by making our natural environment an ally in our development, a source of collective pride, and a driving force behind the excellence of our organization, our community, and our region.

To be a driving force for change by offering experiences that raise awareness, encourage action, and empower everyone to make a positive contribution to a more sustainable society.

Our goal is for everyone who leaves Jouvence to not only feel rejuvenated, but also more connected to nature, more committed to their community, and better equipped to contribute to the transition toward a sustainable future.

Sustainable Development Integrated into Operations

OUR ENGAGEMENT

To ensure continuous improvement in our performance and to keep sustainability at the heart of our decisions, Jouvence has established a standing sustainable development committee that meets monthly and includes senior management. This committee is supported by a sustainability brigade composed of operational representatives from all departments within the organization.

We are committed to:

  • Maintain sustainable development as a strategic and organizational priority;
  • Update, implement, and periodically revise our sustainability action plan;
  • Integrate sustainable development into the customer journey and the employee journey;
  • Measuring changes in our performance to guide our decisions and investments;
  • Encourage the participation of employees, managers, senior management, and directors in our initiative;
  • Communicate transparently about our actions, results, and progress;
  • Produce an annual report detailing the progress of our commitments and the impact of our initiatives.

Awards that Highlight our Efforts

2 AWARDS IN RECOGNITION OF THE COMPOST MANAGEMENT PROJECT AT JOUVENCE

In 2024, spurred by an initiative from the Memphrémagog MRC, Jouvence implemented a program to manage organic waste throughout the entire resort. Now, in the kitchen, dining halls, meeting rooms, guest rooms, and bathrooms, anything that can be composted is collected and sent to the Valoris recycling center in Bury, in the Estrie region, to be turned into compost.

This was a major undertaking for Jouvence, involving three kitchens, a location in the heart of nature—with the challenges that wildlife can present—46 buildings, and a diverse clientele. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of staff across all departments and the commitment of our guests, we are proud that the management of perishable food waste is now part of our daily practices..

It is therefore with immense pride that Jouvence received the Sustainable Tourism Award in 2024 at the Gala du mérite de l’entrepreneurait colletif estrien, and then, in 2025, the Award of Excellence in Environmental Sustainability in the sustainable tourism category at the Fondation estrienne en environnement Gala. These accolades are a source of motivation and pride for our entire team!

A LEED Certified Inn

A BUILDING DESIGNED FOR TOMORROW

The Auberge de Jouvence is a LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)-certified building, a globally recognized certification that attests to high standards in sustainable design and construction. It evaluates, among other things, energy efficiency, water management, material selection, and indoor environmental quality.

In practical terms, this certification means a building designed to reduce its environmental footprint, consume fewer resources, and provide a healthy and comfortable living environment. It also guides our daily practices to promote responsible management of energy, water, and waste.

A tangible commitment that reflects our desire to offer an experience in harmony with the exceptional natural surroundings that surround us.
